Chickens for Sale / Hens for Sale
We always have hens and chickens for sale. We breed all our own rare breeds and grow all our own hybrids so we are lucky enough to have some of the most sort after hens and chicken available! All our hybrid hens are fully vaccinated and will start laying with a few weeks of you taking them home!
Ducks for Sale and Geese for Sale
We only breed ducks and geese on a small scale. Give us a call to see what we have available. We are hoping that in 2009 are duck breeding will be equal in size to our hens. Some duck breeds can lay as many eggs as hens and the boys dont crow! Give us a call on 01253 813178 to find out what waterfowl we have for sale at the moment. We currently have e here for breeding; Cayuga ducks, Aylesbury ducks, Runner ducks, Call ducks, Chinese geese, Emden geese and toulouse geese

Gerald
Blue Indian Peacock - July 2007
Gerald has been part of our family since July 2008 (after asking for a Range Rover or a Peacock for my birthday!)
Gerald is not the most masculine of Peacocks and spends most of his time shaking his tail feathers at black silkie cockerals. We hope this is something he will grow out of once he has passed this young confusing stage of his life!
Gerald has to be hand fed everyday - due to him being bottom of the pecking order with the hens, he dosent stand a chance of getting his feed if it is put in a feeder.
He is 'my little boy' and answers to his name as a dog or cat would! Gerald is the softest most lovable creature we have and just loves walking round with us - where ever we are - he is!
Ugly Betty
Ugly Betty literally 'landed' in our farm! Not knowing exactly what she was as she was very young, we though it might be a peahen for Gerald. Within a few weeks after Gerald paid her no interest and she maid strange 'gobbling' noises we realised Ugly Betty was in fact a Turkey!
Our daughter Emma has asked us if we can make Ugly Betty famous, she said; "Mummy, can Ugly Betty be the only Turkey that knows about January"
What could we say?
So now Ugly Betty will live the rest of her life on Happy Chicks Farm.
Barbara and Dale
Pair of Chinese Geese
Barbara and Dale were an impulsive purchase of mine, so travelled back with me in my car for one hour on the front passenger seats!
It was the longest journey of my life.
They are now permanent fixtures on the farm and frequently scare passers by! But...they are the most caring geese in the world and have reared 16 goslings this year that were not theirs. Well done Barbara and Dale - you will get a pond soon!
Quackers Gang
Our ducks and geese are really comical. Their daily routine includes feeding, drinking, swimming and breaking through their fence everyday! The large Toulouse Goose lays over our very inadequate sheep netting while the ducks climb over the goose!. The ducks must know i don't approve because if they see me they run back to their field and pretend they have been there all along! Last year duck and goose breeding was a hobby, i'm hoping in 2009 to hatch as many ducks and geese as chicks. Our ducks are easy to look after, very hardy and most of all hilarious to watch.
