Day Old Ducklings - Aylesbury

Aylesbuys are a family favorite, producing large very tasty eggs. Ideal as pets for children. Ayleburys do not need a pond as they are land ducks but would like somewhere to dip their heads!! We use large bowls and childrens sandpits!

CARE OF DUCKLINGS- Ducklings will need extra heat for first 3/4 weeks and company for your new arrivals. They should not be kept as a single bird, if your hatch has resulted in only one chick/duckling then please purchase birds of a similar age for company. We sell chick crumb which is suitable for chicks and ducklings. Keep your young ducklings on crumb until around 6 weeks then move onto growers feed. Also once off heat keep your ducklings indoors until around 6 weeks of age, depending on time of year and weather conditions. Ducklings need heat for the first 3 weeks and at around 5c less than chicks.

They are very sweet and I have already kept chickens so the pen is all set up I am worried about them travelling in the van as although I'm sure it is great for most journeys I live over 2 and 1/2 hours away:( would you keep them inside for first month or so as I have a smaller indoor pen as well, would be much too small for them as adults. Thanks, bye.
